Freedom Project

While researching for my shipping container photo project I found this; Freedom Project on CNN website:  (Really great! Check it out!) :)

Phil did a really awesome thing to raise awareness for trafficking, placing himself in a shipping container to live for 2 weeks. Putting himself in the mindset of a victim in a way. Really great.

"Beauty in a Broken World"....??

Some may wonder why I named my blog "Beauty in a Broken World" and that's a reasonable question.
I feel like this world is so corrupted by all the things that control us as human beings; technology, relationships, family, religion, drugs, sex, music, careers, etc. All of these things have the capability of controlling us and taking over our lives. We allow this to happen on a daily basis, whether we're aware of it or not, most of the time we're not aware. I love to create art that involves the beauty of this broken and controlling world we live in. I love to raise awareness and produce work for a purpose that's bigger than myself. I know God's given me this desire for a reason and I try my hardest to use it for His glory. So a lot of the my concepts deal with trying to reveal the beauty in a sad, tragic, or horrible reality, aka human trafficking. My most recent work deals with this issue of human trafficking. There are more slaves on this Earth this very day than there has ever been in history. That's a very sad and overwhelming truth. I want to make people aware of this issue. So many people have no idea what this even is, let alone that it exists exceedingly in the world today. So that's my goal. I have much more experimenting and researching to do!
