Gummies!

For the past couple weeks I have been working on my other project, the abstract series involving the gummies and alcohol, raising an awareness about underage drinking problem; recently happening with kids taking gummies to school absorbed with vodka in them and eating them throughout the day. Here are a couple of my images I have taken! :)

  1. I like these so far! Keep it up :) Good use of colors. Only thing I'd be careful of...go back afterwards and photoshop out some of the very bright white dots within the photos. A few have too much glare, but at easy fix.

  2. I agree with Kimberly's comments, you might also want to play more with the softboxes or trying indirect lighting to control the hotspots (or yes you can manipulate in photoshop as well, but as much as you can do in the studio will save you time on the post-production side.

The compositions as a whole are still definitely rough in explorations, the two that show interesting potential is the second and fourth images (worms and cherries?). There is an interesting short depth of focus on the worms in particular and with the main focus area (upper central spot in the composition) being the more submerged elements offers a nice level variation.

Whereas the color of the sharks is good, but overall is feeling pretty flat throughout. The cherries do this a bit, but also not quite as strong, I think it's perhaps the extreme light-to-dark in the bottom-right quarter of the composition that shows an abstracted range of interest.
